FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Precision Sound is the name that engaged couples trust for their wedding because of a solid reputation for quality entertainment. The frequently asked questions below should help you better understand what we do to help you create a memorable wedding.

  • Your wedding will not simply be another day at the office. Your DJ will take the time to get to know you and what you are all about so that you will have a very personalized wedding experience. Over half of Precision Sound’s wedding clients are referrals from other clients or wedding vendors. Rest assured that your DJ cares as much about the success of your wedding as you do!

  • Unlike a club or bar DJ, wedding DJs will have a broader knowledge of music to be able to play top hits for the young adults as well as the seniors. The ability to play a variety of music is important to keep everyone entertained and dancing.

  • Peak period Saturdays book up to a year in advance. Fridays, Sundays and December - April have a greater chance of being available. Consider booking as soon as possible to ensure your date is secured. Sorry, we don’t hold dates without a contract and deposit.

  • If you don’t live in the area, it’s no problem. Many clients live in different states, but come back home to celebrate their marriage with family and friends. The online planning system is the key to making sure your DJ has all the info to executing your perfect night. You will review your planner with your DJ at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding to make sure that no detail is left to chance and you have a stress-free night.

  • Your DJ will generally act as the Master of Ceremonies and Event Coordinator for your wedding. From introducing the bridal party to any other announcements throughout your wedding night along with hosting any special events and keeping the night flowing smoothly. Your DJ will also make sure everything runs on-time and according to your plan, making it stress-free for you.

  • You can pick as much or as little of the music as you like. Most clients usually supply a few songs that they would like and the DJ fills in the rest. Your DJ has a great deal of experience in playing just the right music to keep your guests dancing all night long. You will not have to worry about what music is played or if people are having a good time. Your DJ will make sure of it!

  • Absolutely NOT. Your wedding is too important, so we make sure that there are no possible glitches with bad WiFi, spotty cellular service, or buffering. A huge limitation of streaming is that the music can’t be mixed together for a seamless transition between songs.

  • That is not a problem. The digital music library is typically updated weekly. If the song that you want is not in the library, as long as it is available for purchase, it will be included in your custom playlist.

  • This is a very common questions and it all depends on your preference. We really love getting requests from your guests because it does help us gauge the type of music that is going to keep the dance floor full all night long.

  • We provide a smaller battery powered setup with a speaker for music and wireless lapel microphone for your officiant at no additional cost. We only charge for extra time if it is required.

  • To get the greatest color enhancement, a typical banquet room needs 10-12 lights. With our wireless uplighting you can do a single color or multiple colors to give the room a custom feel by painting the walls in your wedding colors.

  • Precision Sound carries a $2,000,000 liability insurance policy for your protection. Most venues require that your DJ be fully insured before they will let them setup any equipment.

  • At least 60-90 minutes prior to the start time of your wedding to ensure that the set-up is complete, all storage crates are hidden, all wires taped to the floor and sound checks are completed so the DJ area will look as presentable as the rest of the room when your first guest arrives.

  • One six-foot or eight-foot skirted banquet table, located in proximity to the dance floor with a nearby electrical source. We also need access to the room at least an hour prior to the start of your wedding.

  • Your wedding will never be used as an opportunity to advertise DJ services. The DJ will never display neon signs and banners or put business cards on your guest tables. Business cards are only given out upon request.

  • No. Inviting prospective clients to someone else's wedding can lead to inappropriate, if not embarrassing situations. It’s your wedding and you don’t need any un-invited guests showing up. Providing you with the best performance will be the top priority.

  • All bookings are secured with the submission of an online contract and a $200 deposit which is applied toward the total performance fee. The balance of the performance fee is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding. The reservation system is all done on-line for your convenience. It’s as easy as sending an email stating that you want to book. You will receive a link to the online reservation system where you will fill out a contract and pay the deposit with a credit/debit card.
